If your family is approaching a Bar/Bat Mitzvah celebration, we wish you a mazel tov (congratulations) and are so glad you have come to the right place. We are very excited that your family will celebrate with the other members of our community so that together we can acknowledge the blessing of having reached this milestone not only for you, but for the entire Jewish people.
We at CTJ are extremely proud of our B’nai Mitzvah as they not only learn how to read Torah for our community, but they also fully understand why Torah matters in their lives and in our world today.
Our students spend meaningful one-on-one time with our clergy as they prepare for their big day, and with their peers who are experiencing this journey along with them.
We hope the resources below will demystify the days and months prior to the celebration. Of course, if you have additional questions, we are always here to help.

B'nai Mitzvah Program
Our incomparable B'nai Mitzvah Program is led by Cantor Beth Garden in a warm and nurturing environment.
B'nai Mitzvah dates are assigned in the spring of the 5th grade year.
Membership and Religious School attendance at CTJ or another synagogue are generally required from the 4th grade year forward, but exceptions may be made on a case-by-case basis by CTJ Clergy.
The B'nai Mitzvah fee is $2,200.00 payable in three equal installments unless other arrangements are made.
The first installment is due when the B'nai Mitzvah date is assigned, the second installment is due one year prior to the B’nai Mitzvah date, and the third installment is due six months prior to the B’nai Mitzvah date. Payment plans may be established with the bookkeeper at accounting@ctjmb.org.
